How eDPI Calculation Works

One number that shows your real mouse speed.

Mouse DPI
800
Game Sens
1.5
eDPI
1200

eDPI is your mouse DPI times your in-game sens. This one number shows how fast your aim really is. Keep the same eDPI between games and your aim will feel very similar.

View detailed calculation logic

Step 1: Your mouse DPI (Dots Per Inch) defines hardware sensitivity

Step 2: The game multiplies DPI by your in-game sensitivity setting

Result: eDPI = your actual mouse speed in that specific game

Example: 800 DPI × 1.5 sens = 1200 eDPI (same as 400 DPI × 3.0 sens)

FAQ & Quick Answers

What is eDPI?

eDPI means effective DPI. It is your mouse DPI times your in-game sens. This one number shows how fast your mouse really feels in game.

Is there a best eDPI for every game?

There is no magic best eDPI for everyone. Pros use very different numbers. Your best eDPI depends on how you play, how big your mousepad is and what feels good for you.

Do I need to change DPI or sens when switching games?

When you swap games, you can change your in-game sens so your eDPI stays close to the same. That way your aim feels familiar in both games. Our converter can show you what sens to use.

Why use eDPI instead of just sensitivity?

Every mouse has its own DPI and every game has its own sens scale. eDPI mixes both into one simple number so you can compare settings with friends or pros and move your sens between games.

Is this calculator accurate for all games?

The basic eDPI math (DPI x sens) works the same for all games. Some titles have extra options or weird scaling, but for most FPS this is enough. For more detail, check our CS2 and Valorant tools.
