What is a good eDPI?

There isn't one number that is good for every player. Compare yours only in the game you selected. The band next to the result is a starting range, not a grade.

Same game, same eDPI, same feel

In Valorant, 800 DPI × 0.35 and 400 DPI × 0.7 are both 280 eDPI. That is the comparison this page is for. Start in that game's band, then adjust at the desk.

The same eDPI is not the same in another game

CS2 and Valorant use different sensitivity scales, so 280 eDPI in one is not 280 in the other. Keep cm/360 constant when you switch.

Convert sensitivity between games

When eDPI results are reliable

The result is only comparable when the inputs are real and the games match.

Works when

  • You compare two settings in the same game. 800 DPI × 0.35 = 280 eDPI is the same as 400 DPI × 0.7 = 280 eDPI in Valorant.

  • The DPI is the real value from your mouse profile and pointer acceleration is off. The cm/360 then matches the physical distance your cursor moves.

Breaks when

  • You copy the eDPI number to another game. CS2 and Valorant use different sensitivity scales, so 280 eDPI is not the same setting in both. Convert with cm/360 instead.

  • Pointer acceleration is on, such as Windows “Enhance pointer precision”. Movement stops being linear, so the calculated cm/360 will not match your cursor. Turn it off first.

This page is the generic calculator. Open a dedicated page if you only play one of these games. If you are moving to another title, convert cm/360 instead of copying eDPI.

eDPI calculation examples

eDPI formula: DPI × sensitivity. cm/360 changes with each game's sensitivity scale.

How cm/360 is calculated

cm/360 is the mouse distance for one full turn: 360 × 2.54 divided by eDPI × yaw. Each game has its own yaw, so the same eDPI produces a different cm/360. In Valorant (yaw 0.07), 280 eDPI gives 46.7 cm per turn; in CS2 (yaw 0.022), the same 280 eDPI gives 148.4 cm. Fortnite shows sensitivity as a percentage, so the calculator divides it by 100 before multiplying: 7% × 800 DPI = 56 eDPI.

Common eDPI myths, corrected

Higher eDPI means more precise aim.

No. Most Valorant pros sit in the 200–400 starting band, but low eDPI needs desk space and high eDPI favors fast flicks. Start in the band, then adjust by feel.

The same eDPI number gives the same mouse feel in every game.

No. Each game has its own sensitivity scale. Keep cm/360 constant with the converter instead of copying the eDPI number.

Being inside the starting range means the setting is correct.

No. The band is a reference from pro and community settings, not a pass or fail score. Desk space and comfort decide what works.

Read the eDPI, cm/360, and starting range for the selected game.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the eDPI formula?

Multiply mouse DPI by in-game sensitivity. At 800 DPI and 0.35 sensitivity, eDPI is 280. Use the DPI from your mouse profile and the base or hipfire sensitivity from the game, then compare the result only within the same game.

Why does the calculator ask for a game?

eDPI is only comparable inside the same game because each game has its own sensitivity scale. The game choice sets the yaw used for cm/360 and the reference band shown with your result. 280 eDPI in Valorant is not 280 eDPI in CS2.

Can I use the same eDPI in another game?

No. Copying the eDPI number between games does not preserve mouse feel. Keep cm/360 constant instead: open the sensitivity converter, select the source and target games, and use the target sensitivity it returns. Test it in the target game's practice range.

How do I see my eDPI?

Enter your mouse DPI and in-game sensitivity in the calculator, then read the result. Example: 800 DPI with 0.5 sensitivity shows 400 eDPI and the cm/360 for your selected game. Use the DPI from your mouse profile, not the box label.

How can I convert 800 DPI to 1600 DPI?

Keep eDPI the same and halve the sensitivity: 800 DPI × 0.5 = 400 eDPI, so 1600 DPI × 0.25 = 400 eDPI. Doubling DPI halves the sensitivity needed for the same feel. Enter both numbers in the calculator to check.

How do I calculate Fortnite eDPI?

Divide the Fortnite percentage by 100, then multiply by DPI: 7% × 800 DPI = 56 eDPI. Select Fortnite in the calculator and enter 7 — the percentage conversion happens automatically. The result compares only with other Fortnite settings.

Why is Overwatch eDPI in the thousands?

Overwatch uses a number-based scale with a small yaw, so eDPI runs high: 5 sensitivity × 800 DPI = 4000 eDPI. The same physical feel needs a much larger number than in Valorant or CS2. Compare cm/360 across games instead of the eDPI number.
